By Amber C. Snider Spring is a time of rebirth, when the earth’s fecundity reminds us of our own potential for renewal. To reign in all that spicy energy, here are a few ritual tips from Enchantments. At Enchantments, Beltane is one of our favorite Sabbats, a sacred holiday that falls directly between the spring equinox and the summer solstice. It’s a time when the earth awakens and you might feel yourself opening in new ways, too (emotionally, physically, and yes, sexually). “On May 1st, we honor the earth coming back to full life after its long winter sleep,” says Stacy Rapp, the head witch and owner of Enchantments. “For your Beltane rituals, we recommend red candles. You can use either figure candles or just regular red candles.” Just like the natural world around us, we’ve also been incubating seeds of our own –– perhaps in the form of new projects, routines, or deep healing. In this slow brightening of days until Beltane (May 1st), it’s a good time to celebrate the renewed commitments to our goals, spiritual practices, and usher in that joie de vivre. It’s also time to open up space for the harvest and celebrate the simple joys of being alive. To get the blood pumping, you might even want to add spicy foods to your regular diet, or (dare we say?) go ahead and take on a lover. You might find yourself uncovering your wild side during this time or feeling more open to sexual exploration. So without further ado, here are a few ritual items from Enchantments to celebrate the holiday... Candle Rituals for Beltane. Here are four options available at Enchantments… Figure Candles (you can read more about how to work with them here via this story by Ana Vice). Male figure candles or Female figure candle are both available for $7.50 each. A red coach (120) candle will burn for roughly 6-8 hours or one day. $1.25 online and in-store. Pull-Out Candles, which will burn for 7 days. Great for a week-long ritual to welcome in fertility, excitement, passion, and fiery energy. $13 online and in-store. An Attraction Picture Candle, which will burn for 7 days or more. $11 online and in-store. A Ritual Bath for Beltane “We also recommend a Siren Seduction Bath to celebrate the sex and fertility festival,” Stacy Rapp adds. Our Siren Seduction ritual bath is a mesmerizing physical attraction formula. It creates a mood of passion, sparks feelings of arousal in potential partners, and reduces inhibitions. Use hand-blended incense for smoke cleansing during your rituals “Our Beltane incense is specifically made for Beltane rituals. It’s a fire ritual celebrating love, passion, sex, fertility.” Simply add a half a teaspoon in a fire-safe dish or small cauldron and waft the smoke around your ritual tools, body, or space. It’s $12 for a full ounce of incense (which lasts a while) or it’s available as an oil blend for $16. However you celebrate, we hope you follow your unique spiritual path, find new growth and awakening, and have a blessed Beltane!
