As a child, he frequented the Hayden Planetarium and discovered a “vast and compelling universe…governed by precise mathematical laws" –– experiences which later evolved into a lifelong interest in the dance of the cosmos and its effect on our daily lives. And he hasn’t turned his gaze from the stars ever since. Each birth chart can be read like a map, exploring the avenues of possibility within each planetary house. By using a mix of classical, modern, and medieval techniques, Scoroposki approaches his work with a genuine reverence and respect for the craft. Still, he warns against charlatans out there waiting to prey on the emotional vulnerability of others: “Avoid any ‘psychic’ reader who leads with fear or guilt, elicits money to remove a (phony) curse, or tries to sell you rocks for hundreds or even thousands of dollars,” says Scoroposki. “Unfortunately, some of my work consists of undoing this type of psychic damage. People who need help are vulnerable; however, once someone realizes they’ve been duped, it doesn’t take long to get back on track,” he adds. Astrology should be fun; It's an exploration of possibility that ignites wonder and humility in the vast expanse of our experiences. So in the spirit of the season, Scoroposki offers a festive guide to “shopping your horoscope,” filled with a mix of affordable gifts from Enchantments to suit that travel-loving Sagittarius or artistic Libra in your life. Aries As the first astrological sign in the zodiac and ruled by the planet Mars, Aries are known for their courage, leadership, and action. Scoroposki recommends gifting an oracle deck for the Gemini in your life: “An oracle is a divination technique that's about finding out things out. This Mercury-ruled sign would benefit from an oracle deck because it involves cards, which falls under the gaming element of a Gemini. I think of the Magician card when I think of Gemini. Cancer A Cardinal sign associated with the element of Water, Cancers would benefit from a Lunar Calendar for the New Year. “Cancer is ruled by the Moon and it's important for Cancers to pay attention to the phases of the moon in order to better understand their emotional fluctuations and when to invoke their intuition,” says Scoroposki. "Cancers are very sensitive, caretaking, and intuitive. The Moon is the ruler of all things hidden (and all things of the night) and Cancers are ruled by this force. Channeled in the right way, it can bring inspiration at best,” adds Scoroposki. Leo "Leos are ruled by the Sun and the color gold, so I would recommend a Luck and Happiness Ouanga to attract the energies of the Sun, which includes abundance, prosperity, success, glory, and fame," says Scoroposki. It's very important to the Virgo to have something concrete to rely upon. Practicality is also very important," says Scoroposki. "Because they are ruled by Mercury, a Witches’ Planner will help them organize and feel in control of their schedules. Virgo is also the Earth Goddess, so the guides like Llewellyn’s can show you how to work better with earth magic. Libra Libra, an Air sign ruled by the planet Venus, will love something that symbolizes beauty this season. "Peace, marriage, art, music, romance, and beauty are all important to Libras," says Scoroposki. "A statue of Venus, perhaps in bronze, would make a great gift. It's quite beautiful and something to venerate your ruler and bring all the charms of Venus into the home." Also, consider setting up a home altar to propitiate the Goddess of Love and include an array of seashells, sea salt, and the colors pink and green. Statues available for in-store purchase only. Scorpio Ruled by Pluto and Mars, Scorpios are passionate Water signs that have no trouble conjuring up sexual energy. But just in case they want to turn things up a notch for the holiday season, Scoroposki recommends the Sexual Attraction Kit. "Not that they’ll have any problem with sexual attraction, but with the kit they’re sure to have lots of fun with whomever they choose to sting," he muses. He recommends an astrology book for the eccentric, free-thinking Aquarius in your life. "They have a technical mind and the science of astrology would be a great fit. Also Saturn is associated with the occult and hidden knowledge, so they would have an affinity towards this stuff," he adds. They’re very receptive, so it’s important for Pisces to be around high vibrational people, places, and things," says Scoroposki. It’s also good idea for Pisces to take a weekly ritual bath in regards to spiritual hygiene and maintenance."
